FAQ

What is the Halley 20 index?
An index built by CryptoHalley that sums up the 20 largest cryptos by market cap in one number, much like the S&P 500 for stocks. Stablecoins, tokenized funds, gold, and wrapped tokens are excluded. It started at 1,000 one year ago.
How are the weights determined?
By market cap: larger coins carry more influence. Bitcoin usually weighs more than half, so Halley 20 moves close to BTC. Its gap from the BTC line shows whether other large coins are currently stronger or weaker than Bitcoin.
How is it different from the Altcoin Season Index?
The Altcoin Season Index counts what percentage of coins beat Bitcoin (market breadth), while Halley 20 measures the overall rise and fall in value of the 20 largest coins (market direction). The two complement each other.
