FAQ

What's the difference between account ratio, position ratio, and taker?
Account ratio counts what percentage of ACCOUNTS are net long, regardless of position size. Position ratio (Binance top traders) weights by position size, so one large account counts for more. Taker buy is the share of volume executed by aggressive buyers (market buys) within an hour, it's order flow, not open positions.
Why do retail and top traders often disagree?
Retail accounts tend to add longs after price rises and shorts after it falls, while large accounts often do the opposite or hedge spot positions. When retail is ≥60% long and top traders are pulling back, the market is prone to a long flush. This is a historical pattern, not a certainty.
Where does the data come from?
Directly from the public APIs of Binance Futures (globalLongShortAccountRatio, topLongShortAccountRatio, topLongShortPositionRatio, takerlongshortRatio), Bybit (account-ratio), and OKX (rubik long-short-account-ratio & top-trader). Fetched hourly by the CryptoHalley engine; OKX ratios are converted to long share to keep one scale. Not financial advice.
